New Software from TERCworks

TERCworks, the publishing unit of TERC, is releasing five software titles designed to promote inquiry-based investigations to enhance any middle- or high- school curricula.

Investigate the oceans; discover the science behind the light in the sky; explore how muscles, lungs, and blood work together; or try to foil data-munching bugs. The titles provide a range of computer-assisted applications from an introduction to using computer tools for data analysis to lab investigations with probeware.

Teacher Change: Improving K-12 Mathematics change.enc.org

The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education (ENC) has a new web site for local, state, regional, and national leaders who are working with teachers on the challenging task of improving K12 mathematics teaching and learning. It offers professional development workshop activities, full text journal articles about teacher change, teacher narratives, and an overview of school change written by international authorities Michael Fullan and Andy Hargreaves. In addition, reports and publications from the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) have been integrated throughout.
